After Bolnisi and Akhalkalaki, on September 11th, PIN organized a Media Literacy Festival in Tbilisi as part of the project "Media Literacy for a Democratic and Sustainable Society in Georgia," funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

The festival brought together representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations, media, and the diplomatic corps to discuss media literacy issues.

Kellie Hynes, Head of PIN Georgia Mission, and Jana Zelingerova, representative of the Czech Embassy, delivered welcome speeches, emphasizing the importance of media literacy for a free and democratic society.

Panel discussions covered:

  • Youth media initiatives from Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti
  • Danish film "Follow Me" and a discussion on fake followers
  • Challenges in media literacy and the importance of digital skills in schools

We hope this festival will become a tradition and be held annually across Georgia.

A big thank you to all participants and partners for their support!
