PIN with the support of EU Launches rural development project in Tskaltubo
Published: Jun 5, 2019 Reading time: 2 minutesTskaltubo, 8 June 2019 – The European Union together with its partners, People in Need (PIN) and Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), officially launches a new rural development project “Local Action Group Tskaltubo”. The project introduces a bottom-up, inclusive rural development approach that fully engages all communities in the municipality.
Media is invited to attend the project launch from 14:00 pm, in the Hotel Legends Tskaltubo Spa Resort, address: 23 Rustaveli Street, Tskaltubo.

At the event, the project’s goals and objectives as well as the importance of the European model of rural development, LEADER approach will be presented. For details please see the enclosed Agenda.
Representatives of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Embassy of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia, regional and municipal government, ENPARD partner organisations and other interested parties will attend the event.
After the project launch, journalists and visitors are warmly invited to join the Europe Day celebrations in Tskaltubo park, nearby Hotel “Argo”. The official opening will take place at 17:00.
About the project: The project “Local Action Group Tskaltubo” is supported by the European Union under its ENPARD programme and the Czech Development Agency. By introducing the European LEADER approach in the Tskaltubo municipality, the project will contribute to the reduction of poverty and will promote participatory mechanisms in local decision-making processes. The business and social initiatives supported by small grants will became positive models to follow, that can bring innovations to remote areas and improve the quality of life of its residents.
